RHETT HOUSE INN FALL EVENTS!
Come enjoy Beaufort, SC!
Beaufort SC prices can be 1/3 less for comparable hotel and restaurant meals than expensive next-door sister cities Charleston and Savannah. Because of that, savvy travelers are now using Beaufort as a base and do day trips to Savannah (40 min. away) and Charleston (1 hr. 15), plus you don’t have to move your bags around as much checking in and out. Also golf guests at the Rhett house have exclusive access to three championship private golf clubs both in town and within a 30 min drive-The Sanctuary, Dataw, and Palmetto Bluff, instead of having to stay at just one location and the course there.
Friday, October 3rd. Please save the date for the 20th Annual Beaufort Shrimp Festival, celebrating local wild caught shrimp. The South Carolina Shrimper’s Association partners with Main Street Beaufort each year to bring awareness to thousands of visitors and residents. The location of this celebration is the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in the Historic Downtown District of Beaufort. Admission is free.
Restaurants compete for the coveted Silver Cup and bragging rights for the best shrimp dish each year. Some festival goers take part in the Shrimp Heading Competition and some children touch their first shrimp in the Shrimp Peeling Competition. Sea Island Rotary organizes the rubber shrimp race each year, and live entertainment, a children’s area, craft market and 5K run round out this popular festival.
